A Gathering Basket Webinar: Why we gather

We hope YOU are as excited as we are for the "A Gathering Basket" inaugural issue dropping on Indigenous People's Day!!!! The seed for this project was planted in 2017 and with a lot of seed songs, compost, watering, and nurturing the harvest is here! We owe more people than can be named here a debt of gratitude for the blessings and teachings we've received over these years and it is our hope that with the making of relatives during this time our work has helped others along this path.

We want to invite you to join us on Indigenous People's Day for a conversation with some of these teachers that have offered so much of themselves to their people and the Indigenous Food Sovereignty Movement over the years.

Please join Lillian Hill who is the founder of the Hopi Tutskwa Permaculture Center and Executive Director of the Native American Food Sovereignty Alliance (NAFSA), Nephi Craig who founded the Native American Culinary Association and is the Executive Chef of Cafe Gozhòò, and Twila Cassadore whose was featured in the film Gather and is the Matriarch of the I-Collective in dialogue facilitated by M. Karlos Baca of Taste of Native Cuisine.

It is our wish that this conversation will offer a reflection of the history and current state of Indigenous Food Sovereignty and be a gift of seeds to be planted for the future.
